BIOGRAPHY
Jennifer (Jenn) King is a mostly self-taught oil painter.
Jenn is an active plein air artist in the Bay Area, interested in unveiling the spirit behind an object, person, or scene. She paints primarily post-impressionistic work and portraits and attends figure drawing sessions regularly, working in conte crayon, charcoal, pen and ink, and watercolor. Jenn brings intuition and strong energy into her work and likes to paint the beauty sees within raw, unabashed honesty.
She regularly paints with the Burlingame Plein Air Painters (BPAP), South Bay Artists Meetup, Contra Costa Plein Air, and the Jane Fon Group. Jenn was co-owner of The Alley, A Fine Art Studio, formally based in downtown Alameda. Her current art studio is at Faultine Artspace. Her palette consists of Lemon Yellow, Cadmium Yellow Medium, Gold Ochre, Cadmium Red Medium, Quinacridone Red, Raw Sienna, Burnt Umber, Viridian Green, Ultramarine Blue, Phthalo or Prussian Blue, and Titanium White.
Jenn has attended artist workshops with Scott Hamill, Richard Robinson, John Clayton, Danny Ferland, and John Crump.
